Developing the civil nuclear supply chain - Collaborative R&D – registration deadline 23 April 2014 (BUSINESS LED)

The Technology Strategy Board, together with the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority and the Department of Energy and Climate Change invites applications for its developing the civil nuclear supply chain call. This aims to stimulate innovation in the UK's civil nuclear power sector through feasibility studies. Applications that include technology transfer from other sectors and companies not already in the nuclear supply chain, particularly SMEs, are welcomed. 

Projects must be led by an SME and may be collaborative if the SME chooses to work with larger businesses, other SMEs or research organisations. SMEs can attract 75 per cent public funding for their project costs and larger business partners can attract 65 per cent.  Academic and research oganisations can apply but cannot lead a project, and the total non-business involvement in a project cannot exceed 30 per cent of the total project costs. The total budget available is £3 million. Projects can cost between £100,000 and £150,000 and last up to 12 months.
