The International Unit will be visiting Cambridge on this date to run an information session for academics and interested parties on the opportunities on offer under this fund. In the afternoon, there will be a series of sessions organised around the Government’s Development Goals, as all research funded under the Newton Fund has to fit within these parameters: broadly we will discussing Education, Health, Economic Growth, Governance and Climate and Environment. The aim is to get academics talking to each other about potential collaborations under these banners. The Newton Fund of £375 million (over five years) is coordinated by the:

  • Academies of Engineering, Medical Sciences and the British Academy
  • British Council
  • Royal Society
  • International Unit
  • Innovate UK (the rebranded Technology Strategy Board)
  • RCUK
  • Met Office
