Energy@Cambridge Call for Energy Champions
A number of Energy Champions will be selected to support different areas of the Energy@Cambridge strategic research initiative with the aim of building stronger research networks and engagement in the Energy@Cambridge initiative. Energy Champions, selected from early career researchers, will be supported by the Energy@Cambridge directorate and the senior academic members of the initiative.
Role of Energy Champions
- Meet termly together with the Energy@Cambridge directorate to discuss current developments in energy research activities across Cambridge, funding priorities and new opportunities in research.
- Support the development of active networks across the University in particular in areas or themes covered by Energy@Cambridge.
- Support partnerships on specific interactions with industry partners and external sponsors, through impact and other outreach activities.
- Work with the coordinator to source and produce website content, case studies, publicity material and interactions on social media.
- Work with groups such as the University’s student energy network CUEN and the PdOC society for postdoctoral researchers.
- Apply for seed funding of up to £500 per annum to support activities that further the objectives of the Energy@Cambridge initiative.
Energy Champions will be selected from early career researchers. Applications from PDRAs are actively encouraged. Energy Champions will be appointed by the Energy@Cambridge directorate for a term of 18 months; which may be extended for a further year.
