Monday, 20 February, 2023 - 15:30 to 20:30
Event location:
House of Lords, London

A seminar on Energy Security in the Baltic and Northern Europe, held by the Baltic Geopolitics Programme at the University of Cambridge’s Centre for Geopolitics. This will take place in the House of Lords from 1530 to 1830 on the afternoon of February 20th and will be followed by a reception.

Supported by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office’s Network of Liberty fund, the seminar will promote wider understanding and discussion of the ways in which the Baltic and Northern European countries, including the UK, can cooperate to address their own energy needs in a way that reduces dependence on importing energy from Russia and strengthens their own geopolitical security.

The seminar will bring together politicians and decision-makers in business and government from both Britain and the region, as well as academics specialising in history, geopolitics, energy policy, and green energy technology. The final programme is still being confirmed, but it will include keynote addresses and two panels, with senior participation across the region.

If you are able to attend, or have any questions, please email Hugo Bromley (hb526@cam.ac.uk) or Michelle Houghton (mh887@cam.ac.uk) by February 10th .
