Restricted Call: Intellectual Property Office (IPO) - The StudentshIP Enterprise Awards 2014 - 24 November 2014

The StudentshIP Enterprise Awards 2014 encourage the practical application of Intellectual Property (IP) skills by students working in collaboration with Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The competition will support projects that promote student enterprise activities within HEIs where collaboration between students and academics results in the creation, management or exploitation of IP. Projects may also involve business partners. All projects are expected to:

  • have a clear link to IP
  • feature a student cohort as an integral and permanent      part of its structure.
  • be interdisciplinary in nature;
  • promote an enterprise culture among the student body;
  • provide an opportunity to enhance student      employability;
  • not be viable without an element of external funding      and/or not normally attract funding from within an institution;
  • disseminate the outcome of their success for the      benefit of the institution or wider community;
  • have a lasting impact on students’ IP awareness/skills.

Each project must be led by a project leader and can include any combination of academic staff, non-academic staff and Knowledge Exchange professionals. The student cohort can include undergraduates, postgraduates and graduates within 2 years of graduation upon joining the project.

Funding:  Individual prizes of between £10,000 and £100,000 will be awarded.

If you are interested in this call – either to lead an application from Cambridge or to be part of a consortium led from elsewhere – please submit an internal selection form (attached) and letter of support from your Head of Department or Departmental Administrator to, copied to your School Office, by 24 November 2014 (17:00).
