Demand for critical metals, from lithium for batteries to rare earth elements for wind turbines and solar cells, is forecast to rise tenfold by 2040. These metals often exist in complex, dilute mixtures, like salt lakes and geothermal brines, making separation and purification a major challenge. Cur
