In his lecture, Professor Mu will explore how industrial innovation policy making in China is responding to this time of radical and disruptive technologies set against a backdrop of geopolitical instability and growing protectionism.
Rongping Mu is a Professor at the Institutes of Science and Development, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Director General of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Center for Innovation and Development. Professor Mu is President of the Chinese Association for Science of Science and S&T Policy Research, the editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Science Research Management, the founding editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Innovation and Development Policy. He is a member of working party on Innovation and Technology Policy (TIP) of OECD.
Professor Mu has more than 30 years research experience in the fields of Innovation Development Policy, Technology Foresight, International Competitiveness of Hi-tech Industry, and R&D Tax Credit Policy. He has engaged in the policy making process related to national innovation capacity-building, strategic emerging industry development and regional innovation development. Professor Mu has a BSc in physics, an MSc in the history of science from the University of Science and Technology of China, and a PhD in the history of technology from the Technische Universität Berlin, Germany.
