About
Speaker: Dr Catharina Bening, Senior Researcher, Group for Sustainability and Technology, ETH Zürich
Catharina holds a Lic. oec. (MSc level) and PhD in Economics from the University of St. Gallen. Before joining ETH Zurich, Catharina has gained international academic experience with stays in Singapore, Rotterdam, and the University of Chicago. At ETH, she leads the group’s research and practice activities in the area of the sustainable circular economy in general and on circular plastics specifically. Catharina’s current research includes projects on the institutional foundations of a sustainable circular economy, on plastics packaging in retail, on plastic waste reduction in developing countries and on industry restructuring in plastics packaging.
