Alan Haigh: former policy advisor to the Deputy Director General of DG Research and Innovation at the European Commission. He retired in 2024 and is now an Active Senior carrying out specific tasks for the Commission. For the 7 years prior to that Alan was seconded into the Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA), where he was Head of the Department implementing the energy and transport parts of the Horizon 2020 research programme.
