Scott Polar Research Institute (SPRI) Renewable Energy in the Arctic and Remote Communities Seminar
The seminar, given by Dr Magnus De Witt, will focus on remote energy use in polar regions. Electrical and thermal energy are essential for the community's well-being in the polar region. Energy use in remote areas implies that the energy generation is far from road infrastructure or electricity grids. The energy supply has to match the energy demand. This seminar will give an introduction to energy technologies for cold climates, with the main focus on the three dimensions (Affordability, Security, and Environmental Soundness) of energy policy, with a focus on remote applications.
