Speaker: Dr Carlos Härtel, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Climeworks
Heard about direct air capture (DAC) recently? Interested in learning what the fuss is about? Skeptical?
Climeworks is responsible for the world’s largest direct air capture plant, Orca, that captures carbon dioxide directly from air. It has also been at the forefront in recent news, having raised $650 Million in the largest round for a carbon removal startup. Join us Thursday, 28th April (4 to 5 pm) to hear about the role of DAC in decarbonization from Climework’s CTO, Carlos Haertel! This is a great opportunity to learn and pose questions (controversial or otherwise) you may have to a senior leader in industry.
Dr. Carlos Härtel is Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Climeworks, one of the leading companies for the development and operation of systems for direct air capture. He has extensive experience in industrial research and development, managing technology transfer and innovation, and evaluating the potential and market readiness of advanced technologies. He studied aerospace engineering at the RWTH Aachen University and the Technical University of Munich, where he also received his doctorate.
