UKRI’s Smart Sustainable Plastic Packaging (SSPP) Challenge, delivered by Innovate UK, is bringing the plastic packaging supply chain together to celebrate the innovation and impact of the 80+ projects the Challenge has funded over the past five years.

From cutting edge recycling technologies to novel bio-derived packaging materials and major advances in reuse and refill, these projects exemplify the power of innovation in shaping a more circular future for plastic packaging and we are delighted that Mary Creagh MP, Minister for Nature & Circular Economy, will be giving a Keynote Address.

The Challenge has also demonstrated the strong level of support for innovation across the entire plastic packaging supply chain, with over £270 million of additional investment leveraged as a result of the SSPP funding.

The event will provide the opportunity to celebrate this collective achievement, find out how the SSPP projects are changing the plastic packaging landscape, and discuss how these innovations and others can inform and support more progress on sustainability and clean growth in the future.
