Speaker Event - Greg Jackson, founder of Octopus Energy!

The Marshall Society is honoured to announce that Greg Jackson, a Cambridge Alumni and the current CEO of Octopus Energy Group, will be joining us this Thursday at 18:30 to share his journey of founding and transforming the startup into the billion-dollar global energy and technology company that it is today.

Who is Greg Jackson?

Having studied Economics at Pembroke College Cambridge, Mr Jackson went on to found, angel invest into, and grow companies in various sectors currently defining the UK economy.

Most notably, Mr Jackson is the founder and current CEO of Octopus Energy Group, the UK’s largest and most awarded electricity supplier, pioneering affordable and green energy systems globally.

Despite the extraordinarily high barriers to entry in the energy market, the company has managed to grow to a current value of $9 billion, serving almost 8.5 million clients globally. The group currently operates a £7 billion portfolio of renewable energy assets.

What will the talk be about?

The evening will include an auto-biographical introduction given by Greg Jackson, detailing his experiences, approaches to venture building and angel investing, the challenges he faced, and how he rose above them to revolutionise the UK’s energy market. Mr Jackson will bring a unique insight into the energy industry, particularly in the context of green energy, with Octopus Energy being renowned for driving the tech-enabled green energy transition.

His speech will then be followed by a Q&A! Due to time constraints, the Q&A will be moderated, so please send in your questions in advance through the link in our bio! You may also use this link on the day to send in any questions you may think of during the talk.
