The Venture Café Connect Evening will spotlight how advances in materials science across biotechnology, engineered systems, and next-generation manufacturing are translating into new industrial capabilities.
The evening will feature a panel including:
- Tim Minshall (Head of the Institute for Manufacturing, University of Cambridge)
- José Videira (Technical Specialist, ARIA)
- Sophie Vaud (Chief Technical Officer, Colorifix and Earthshot Prize finalist)
- John Whittaker (Engineering Director Graphene Engineering Innovation Centre
Together, the panel will explore how the UK can compete globally in advanced production, and the system-level shifts required to scale materials innovation from research into manufacturing.
Alongside the panel, Innovate Cambridge will host a curated showcase of leading materials startups, including Xampla, Sparxell, and DZP Technologies, highlighting the strength and diversity of Cambridge’s materials innovation ecosystem.
