Ever wondered how advanced data analytics and machine learning can be used to optimise energy production or predict efficiency and safety risks even before they happen in production and drilling operations? Or how a single fibre optic cable can be used as a distributed microphone array to intelligently listen and pattern the sounds of fluids underground? These are some of the digital projects we work on in BP Upstream.

This talk will introduce some of the fundamental business challenges in bringing secure, sustainable and accessible energy to the world and how these are now being addressed using disruptive digital technologies built within BP – ranging from the use of advanced signal processing and machine learning for reservoir surveillance to the development of digital twins of energy production assets and optimising hydrocarbon reservoir recovery efficiencies.

The purpose of this talk is to introduce you to the some of the new technologies that are ushering BP into the ‘digital energy’ revolution and also connect with those interested in pursuing a career in digitalising the energy sector - one byte at a time.

Free lunch included!

The venue has limited spaces, so please RSVP below.
