The University is in the process of setting up a new initiative to substantially enhance its activities in education, research and knowledge exchange related to delivering a global carbon neutral future: the Carbon Neutral Futures Initiative. It is recognised that various institutions of the University are active in relevant research including from scientific, economic, technological and policy perspectives, and in engagement with business, finance, industry, NGOs and policymakers. The initiative aims to build on these successful activities to create a more integrated offering with even greater global impact.

Dr Emily Shuckburgh,Director of the Carbon Neutral Futures Initiative, is holding a series of town hall meetings to provide members of the University with the opportunity to shape the direction of the Initiative at an early stage so as to optimise its effectiveness. The first of these meetings was held on 10 July. The meetings will consist of a brief overview of the current thinking concerning the structure of the Initiative and its initial focus followed by facilitated discussions.

The meeting is open only to University of Cambridge members, and who are involved in relevant research are welcome to participate. To register for the September meeting please use the following link: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/carbon-neutral-futures-initiative-tickets-69424944879
