From Deep Science to Enterprise: Making an Impact

Date & time: 2 February 2016, 18:00-21:00
Venue: Lecture Theatre 0, Department of Engineering, Trumpington Street, Cambridge

  • Professor Chris Lowe OBE, FREng, FInstP, FRSC, Emeritus Professor of Biotechnology at the University of Cambridge

The long and winding road to commercialisation can be a perilous route to take, even more so when you are working on deep science. So why should you bother? Professors Nigel Slater and Chris Lowe will guide you through what they have learnt from creating companies and why "impact from research" is now on the government agenda. Professor Chris Lowe won "Most Entrepreneurial Scientist of the UK" Award: UKSEC (2006) and Professor Nigel Slater from 1 January 2016 will be the Pro-Vice-Chancellor focussed on enterprise and regional affairs.
