2019 marks the 200th anniversary of the death of James Watt (1736-1819), the Scottish-born inventor, engineer and scientist. This talk explores his significance and reputation and how we might look at him in new ways.

Dr Malcolm Dick, OBE is Director of the Centre for West Midlands History and Senior Lecturer in Regional and Local History at the University of Birmingham. He has been leading a number of projects which are linked with the Watt anniversary commemorations.
