Interdisciplinary Research Centre

Date:
Thursday, 28 February, 2019 - 16:30 to 18:00
Event location:
Department of Engineering - LR5

Speaker: Alan Smith (World Association of Nuclear Operators)

The first part of the talk explores what the impact of 20 years of study and debate on climate change has actually had on the nuclear industry. Not the words and claims and predictions, but the actual results on the global energy production mix. Alan Smith will then give an analysis of the nuclear industry’s ability to address climate change. In other words, how prepared is the global nuclear industry to meet the demand on a scale that would make a meaningful difference?

This talk is part of the Engineering Department Nuclear Energy Seminars series.
