Recent advances in low-cost computing hardware, sensor technology, and machine-learning tools have opened radical new opportunities for "Smart Imaging". These developments have the potential to improve lives in developing countries. Brainstorm and develop ideas in this field with experts and developers.
The Cambridge Global Challenges (CGC) SRI, Synthetic Biology in Cambridge IRC and CamBridgeSens SRN are inviting Cambridge researchers to apply to a Sandpit and Seed Funding Competition on 26-27th November for the the development of smart imaging-based approaches to challenges faced by communities in ODA-target countries.
Recent advances in low-cost computing hardware, sensor technology, and machine-learning tools have opened radical new opportunities for “Smart Imaging”. These disruptive technologies have the potential to transform health, environmental sustainability, food security, water and energy challenges faced in developing countries.
The aim of this two-day sandpit is to develop project ideas around smart imaging for applications in ODA-target countries. This event will be supported by experts in machine learning and vision, design and innovation from Cambridge, the Royal College of Art and the Institute of Technology and Innovation in Botswana.
Open to students, researchers and academics from Cambridge University.
