Would you like to write an article and join a growing community of more than 45,500 academics and researchers from 1,916 institutions?
The Conversation is an independent source of news and views, sourced from the academic and research community and delivered direct to the public. The editors of The Conversation provide two hour training sessions to help early career researchers (from PhD students upwards) write their research story for this exciting online academic news journal.
This will be a 2 hour session and interactive so please be prepared to get involved. The session is led by experienced journalists who will cover topics including:
How to write for the Conversation (and the public in general);
Presentation looking at style, structure, difference between academic and journalistic;
How to write an effective pitch;
Group work:
Newspaper exercise
Write and develop your own pitch (25 mins)
Become an editor exercise
