Event location:
Scott Polar Research Institute

Guest speaker: Dr Emily Shuckburgh (British Antartic Survey)

Main theme:  Climate Research

The first Cambridge Centre for Climate Science student symposium aims to bring together the broad scientific research from students within six University of Cambridge departments, SPRI and the British Antarctic Survey.

The one day will include sessions on past, present and future climate. The programme will include research on (but not be limited to) climate change, meteorology, ecosystem adaptation, climate modelling, global teleconnections, reconstructing past climates, ice shelf interactions, ocean-atmosphere links, boundary layer and turbulence, evolution in a changing climate, observations and data assimilation, cloud properties and human-climate interactions. Abstracts will be taken from any masters or PhD level student, with a climate-related research project.

As this conference is specifically for students to promote their research, it is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in communicating your science.

The event is free for students, but registration is required.
