Prof Manish Chhowalla awarded IOM3 2020 Prizes Griffith Medal & Prize

Congratulations to Professor Manish Chhowalla, Director of Henry Royce Energy-Efficient ICT-Cambridge and Goldsmiths’ Professor of Materials Science (Dept of Materials Science and Metallurgy), who has been awarded the IOM3 Griffith Medal and Prize and shares the Charles Hatchett Award with the co-authors of the winning paper.

His awards recognise his significant contribution to the understanding of 2D materials and devices. He is acknowledged as a world leader in the fields of diamond-like carbons and has advanced the understanding of the electronic and electrochemical properties of atomically thin two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides of the utilization of phases with disparate properties for catalysis and energy storage. Prof Chhowalla is UKs most Highly Cited Researchers (according to Clarivate) in materials science.
