On 1 Dec 2022, Xin Sun, Researcher at Tsinghua University, was the invited speaker, as a part of the Cambridge University Energy Technology Society (CUETS) talks, to present on "Critical Materials for Battery Sustainability".

Xin Sun is a PhD candidate in School of Vehicles and Mobility, Tsinghua University, and a Predoctoral Research Fellow at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. His research interests are in the sustainability of critical materials and energy technologies. He is a co-author of 24 peer-viewed papers in journals including Joule, Environmental Science & Technology, iScience, etc. His papers have been cited 603 times by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, European Commission, British Geological Survey, Australian Department of Industry, and in numerous professional journals, with an h-index of 12 and over 12,000 reads on ResearchGate. He has been awarded the Qian Yi Environment Grand Prize, Global Change Future Scholar, and First prize of Graduate Student Scholarship of Tsinghua University, among other awards.
