Interdisciplinary Research Centre

Date:
Friday, 24 January, 2025 - 08:00 to 17:00
Event location:
Sizewell B, Suffolk

Sizewell B is the UK's only PWR nuclear power station. First connected to the grid in 1995, it remains the newest nuclear power station in the UK! The power plant produces over 1 GW of baseload electricity generation, annually providing electricity roughly equivalent to the entire consumption of Northern Ireland (or half of Wales'). Join us for a guided tour to see the ins and outs of one the UK's biggest sources of low carbon energy.

The site visit will be on the 24th of January, 2025. We will depart by coach in the morning, you will need to bring your own lunch, and we will be back in Cambridge by the early evening. No pictures are allowed inside the power station.

This visit is organised by CUETS.
