Dr J. Li's research focuses on the investigation of multiphase flows using state of the art numerical methods. Multiphase flows are ubiquitous in technology applications. Examples include inkjet printing, cavitation (formation of vapour bubbles in sufficient low pressure regions) and spray (combustion of liquid fuels in droplet forms). Multiphase flows are in general highly nonlinear and analytically intractable. Our present state of knowledge in this area is far from complete and ripe for further research.
