We're only a few weeks away from the digital flagship event, GRIPS 2021, supported by UKRI, KTN and UKCPN. With 2000 delegates expected, 150 speakers and 50 exhibitors, it really is the must-attend plastics event of the year.
GRIPS will boast keynote talks from Professor Richard Thompson, Professor John McGeehan, Professor Duncan Wingham, Helen Bird of WRAP and KTN’s CEO, Dr Alicia Greated, who will share the latest thinking, research and technologies in plastics sustainability. Professor Ed Kosior of Nextek will be dialling in from Australia and Marc A. Hillmyer McKnight of the University of Minnesota, will be speaking from the US. There is also an international reception hosted by the UK’s Department of International Trade with speakers joining from Nigeria and India.
The Cambridge Circular Plastics Centre and the Smart Sustainable Plastic Packaging from Plants (S2UPPlant) project on developing materials with new functional properties, such as improved strength or better protection, reducing the volume of plastic packaging needed to keep food fresh, will be showcasing the research into the elimnation of plastic waste taking place in Cambridge.
