Cambridge focuses on a number of areas covering finance and economics, particularly on the economics of electricity and natural gas markets, economics of climate change policy, carbon pricing and technology policy, and political economy of energy and climate change policy. 

Research areas covered include: market design, carbon pricing, support for RD&D, network pricing for electricity, network pricing for gas, electricity policy, transmission access pricing and renewables support mechanisms.
