Biography

Dr Hofmann’s research explores novel materials, metrology and device architectures. A particular focus thereby lies on nanomaterials, such as graphene, carbon nanotubes and semiconductor nanowires, and the use of in-situ metrology to probe the fundamental mechanisms that govern their growth and functionality.

Research

Energy Storage: application of research to batteries and supercapacitors.

Manufacturing: integrated manufacturing of nanomaterials, such as 2D materials, carbon nanotubes and semiconductor nanowires.

Materials & Chemistry: in-situ meterology to explore the materials & chemistry in unprecedented detail, and focus on their applications in particular in ICT.

Smart Systems & Device Design: application of research to integrated smart systems.

Energy Efficiency: application of research to energy efficient circuit systems.
